About

Matthew Organista is a professional Triathlete from Carpinteria, California. From a young age Matt has always enjoyed the outdoors and being active. He grew up surfing, swimming, running, hiking, playing at the beach and fishing with his grandpa. His love for sports led him to play Water Polo and Swimming his freshmen year of High School and shortly after he discovered the sport of Triathlon. Self-coached and at the age of 15 he did his first Triathlon placing 26th overall.

Upon graduating from high school Matt attended Santa Barbara City College. During his junior year, he was a walk on the SBCC Cross Country Team. The following year Matt transferred to Westmont College where he continued his running career and received Most Valuable Runner on his cross country team. In 2012 Matt graduated from Westmont College and received a degree of Bachlor of Science in Kinesiology. Shortly after he began to purse his career of coaching and Triathlon racing full time.

In 2013 he had found his way to the top of the amateur ranks placing first in the ITU Age Group World Championships for the Sprint Distance and two days later placing 4th in the Olympic Distance. Matt chose not to stop there, and in 2014 he began racing professionally with the support of Team Every Man Jack and his home town community of Carpinterians. Matt currently races Triathlons and films weddings professionally, coaches youth Water Polo and Swimming for Carpinteria Aquatics Club and local high school athletes. Matt also has step on board as a Triathlon coach for the Riviera Multi-sport Triathlon Team.

Matt's journey into the professional world of Triathlon racing has been filled with reward, plagued with disappointment, drained by long hard days of exhaustion and frustration. Although, his journey has been teeming with success, incredible friendships and surprises along the way. It has not been easy, but its been special.
